In W12, bids for new Alaska pollock roe from Russia, which have been in full swing since mid-March, are stuck at a high price in Busan, South Korea.
On March 22nd and 23rd, the price of standard (high-end product) was revealed in the bidding, starting at USD 8.9/kg. The yen price is slightly higher than in the same period in 2022, and one of the reasons for the high price was the decrease in egg production of Alaska pollock from the United States. However, production in Russia is forecasted to increase in 2023.
