The government has provided the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) with four state guarantees to assist it in obtaining important commodities such as edible oil, sugar, and lentils. From the date of issuance, the guarantees shall be valid for one year. Under these assurances from the domestic source, 0.6 million litres of soybean oil, 6,000 MT of sugar, and 2,000 MT of lentils will be procured to run the TCB's Open Market Sale (OMS) program, according to the official.

Due to the Covid-19, the TCB is now running an OMS program throughout the year to maintain reasonable price level across the country. In the long run, the OMS will be used to ration critical products in various regions of the country via trucks in Dhaka, Chattogram, divisional cities, and district towns.
