The performance of the Indonesian shrimp export market is starting to decline in demand, specifically from the American market. Large Indonesian packers that only focus on the American market are starting to look for alternative new markets such as Japan and Taiwan. Japan is one of the main target markets for large Indonesian packers. As a result, many shrimp packers who previously only focused on the Japanese market have started to formulate new strategies due to the large number of new packers offering their products to Japanese buyers at lower prices.
