Taiwan Sea Bream and Milkfish ranked top 1 and 2 for both Taiwan domestic and export market in aquatic product category. As reported in the period of Jan-June 2020, the export volume has increased by 2.2% and 19.3% for Taiwanese Sea Bream and Milkfish respectively compared to 2019. However, the average dollar value reported was down on average of 20% for the both products.

The demand is slow due to COVID-19 for both domestic market and export market. Taiwanese government has initiated plans to promote export, and help with freeze storage to help minimize fishermen's losses.
