Taiwan's onion market begins with a strong preference for US origin

Taiwanese buyers of onion prefer USA origin, since the crops are newly harvested and have a competitive price. For other origins, Japan is in a shortage of onion for the 2021 season, and South Korea has only stocks from last season, with a higher price due to strong domestic demand. The buyers are expecting a CIF price at a maximum of USD 16.00/ 50lb mesh bag for USA origin, and USD 12-13.00/20kg mesh bag for South Korea origin.
