In the past five years, India has been the leading in importing cashew nut from Tanzania by taking an average of 66% of Tanzania's export share. Last year though for the first time in many years, Vietnam becomes the major importer of cashew nut by taking an average of 89% of Tanzania's exports, and outclassed India. According to FAO, Tanzania ranks eighth in the world and fourth in Africa behind Nigeria, Cote D'Ivore, and Guinea Bissau.
