The price of asparagus in the Japanese market is rising. On a wholesale price basis, the price on February 3, 2023, is about 1.5 times the price on the same day in 2022.

The Mexican asparagus, which Japan imports the most, is anticipated to be imported in large quantities. The unit price of asparagus in the wholesale market will plummet to around USD 7/kg from mid-to-late February 2023.
