The third generation of Eastern mangosteen has been consistently harvested since the start of W25. However, production is restricted to a small number of farms, leading to higher prices for the selected mangosteens intended for export, reaching USD 1.14/kg in comparison to the previous week (W24). In Trat Province, where purchases are made, the buying price was USD 2.14/kg. The limited supply and the need to quickly fill containers for export to China are the primary reasons for the price surge.
