The Camp d’Elx winter vegetable campaign will exceed 21.5 million kg in 2022

The president of Young Farmers ASAJA Elche, Pedro Valero, together with the mayor of Elche, Carlos González and members of the municipal corporation, presented this morning the Camp d’Elx winter vegetable campaign on a plot of land in Algorós, which this year it will exceed 21.5 million kg, despite the fact that the main vegetable in this area, the artichoke, will suffer a 15% decrease due to climatic adversities, reaching 12 million kg.

The rest of the winter productions of the Elche countryside, such as broccoli, cauliflower, romanesco, broad beans and potatoes, maintains harvest levels similar to 2020.

By crops, the data reported is as follows:
- ARTICHOKES, 800 Ha. FORECAST PRODUCTION: 12,000,000 kg
- BROCCOLI, 300 Ha. FORECAST PRODUCTION: 3,000,000 kg
- CAULIFLOWER, 170 Ha. FORECAST PRODUCTION: 3,500,000 Units
- ROMANESCO, 30 Ha. FORECAST PRODUCTION: 500,000 Units
- BEANS, 50 Ha. FORECAST PRODUCTION: 1,000,000 kg
- POTATOES, 150 Ha. FORECAST PRODUCTION: 1,500,000 kg
