Some of the major producing regions of mangosteen in Indonesia such as Central Java, East Java, and Nusa Tenggara have entered the early stage of their peak harvest season of mangosteen in the second week of November 2020. During this early stage, some areas can produce around 2 MT of mangosteen per day which will usually be distributed to the traditional markets and modern retailers across the countries.
The peak season for mangosteen itself is expected to take place in the entirety of December 2020 until around the second or third week of January 2021, during which the production output is expected to be around 10 MT/day. Some of the leading exporters in these regions have also begun their promotional campaign for this commodity to potential buyers, especially in the major importing countries such as China and Hong Kong.
