Local dragon fruit farmers in Blitar regency in East Java province are lowering their production cost by charging up their solar panel batteries during the day and then using the batteries to power up the artificial lights that are used to provide the fruit a necessary ultraviolet that helps the dragon fruit plants to produce flowers that will turn to fruit even during the night. This method has been used by the farmers in this area to exponentially maximize the production of their dragon fruits even outside of the usual harvest season in September and October every year so that they can keep accommodating the market's demand all year long.
