Turkey closed in 2020, recording the pickle export volume of USD 277 million. In the January-November period of 2021, exports increased by 12% compared to the previous year, from USD 268 million to USD 300 million.

The Turkish pickle industry produces pickles of over 30 vegetables and fruits, mainly gherkins, peppers, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, almonds, mushrooms, beets, onions, garlic, and tropical fruits, in its modern facilities and exports the products to 129 countries. Since pickles strengthen the immune system, there has been an increase in demand during the pandemic period.

Pickled gherkins were first in pickle exports with an amount of USD 133 million, and pickled peppers were exported at the cost of USD 132 million. While Germany was at the top with a demand for Turkish pickles of USD 76 million, the Netherlands became the summit partner with a demand of USD 47 million. Turkey exported USD 32 million of pickles to the United States, USD 25 million to England, and USD 11 million to Romania.
