According to a report published by Greenpeace to celebrate World Food Day, the Spanish farming sector has increased its CO2 emissions since 2018. Spain is now the third-largest producer of farm-related CO2 emissions in Europe, placing the country in an unsustainable place for the future. The industry that increased its emissions the most was the chicken sector (64%), followed by the pork sector (56%), and in third place, the egg sector (26%).

Greenpeace is now calling on the Spanish government as well as all governments in Europe to pass laws that guarantee sustainable farming practices, and to put an end to industrial farming which hurts not only the environment, but our health as well.
