The United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved Thailand's Pomelo for its first shipment to Washington to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. This shipment included 72 cartons weighing 864kg of irradiated pomelos of various varieties, such as Thongdee, Khaoyai, Khoanamphueng, and Khaotangkwa. The approval of the pomelo makes it the eighth fruit from Thailand approved for export to the United States.
