The Tanzanian government hopes to increase the annual production of raw cashews in the country to 700K MT by the 2025/26 season. The Government has decided to digitize and improve the database of farmers that will help develop various plans for their development, including the purchase and distribution of inputs, the distribution of seeds and quality cashew seedlings, packaging (sacks), extension services, screening, research, and markets. The exercise will take place in two phases, with the first phase involving the regions of Mtwara, Lindi, Ruvuma, Pwani, and Tanga, while the second phase will be held in new regions.
