The growth of export volume of palm kernell expeller from Borneo in 2020

The export volume of palm kernel expeller (PKE) from West and South Borneo province recorded a significant increase in the first semester of 2020. During this period the export volume reached the level of 800 MT, which is an 80% increase from its record in the previous year. The palm kernel expeller produced in these provinces has been mainly exported to South Korea and Japan where these two countries have been dominating the demand for PKE from Borneo. The national exporters in this area can now source PKE easily as most unused PKE from palm oil manufacturers in Sumatra are usually distributed to Borneo as there are a lot of processing plants in the region. The exporters are confident that they can carry on the good momentum and touch the 1000 MT mark by the end of October 2020.
