The Impact of La Niña in some of the most important export products of Peru

Some of the expected impacts of the La Niña phenomenon in the Peruvian most important agriculture products are:
Mango: it has been positive since the cold temperatures during the night have induced a good flowering in all the varieties both in Lambayeque and in Piura where the mangoes are already set and in full development. However, in Casma (Áncash), these temperature conditions have favored a very early flowering, so many producers decided to cut these flowers so as not to come out so early and to avoid coming out at the same time as the Piura production.
Table grapes: in the norther regions some short-lived varieties are already in harvest; however, those with a long period have been affected with a delay of about 10 days in their phenology.
Citrus: the sunny days and cold nights have favored a better color of the fruits, especially on the central coast. On the other hand, many growers are betting on longer aging to induce flowering. These climatic conditions has favored induction.
Artichokes, a good production campaign is expected, with a low incidence of Botrytis, powdery mildew and a low population of Lepidoptera..
Avocado the flowering season begins, which is slower than in other years.
