Since 5 March, the political tension between the civilians and the military government has risen. The martial law has been applied to some industrial regions such as Hlaing Thar Yar, Shwe Pyi Thar, and South Dagon. Nearly 90 percent of rice mills, bean processing plants, and food production factories are located in those regions. The majority of local workers chose to go back to their native towns and some people are unable to come out for work. Thus almost 95% of the export of agro-commodities is suspended or postponed until the situation is recovered.
