Very recently, the government of Indonesia through its Ministry of Trade has issued a revision on the import regulation for beers and other alcoholic beverages to Indonesia. This new regulation would mandate all importers to only ship these products from overseas through the authorized ports and airports such as Jakarta, Surabaya and Central Java. This new regulation is intended to prevent the circulation of illegal and unregistered alcoholic beverages in the national market. With the assignment of the designated ports and airports, it is expected that the distribution can be more carefully managed. Alcoholic beverage is among the continuously growing industries in Indonesia with around 7% growth since 2018.
