The Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa) announced that due to the climatic problems faced this year and to crop migration, it forecasts a 16% reduction in the estimate of planted area in the 2020/21 harvest. On the other hand, the National Supply Company (Conab) had recently announced a reduction of just 6%. Either projection will represent a substantial reduction in the cultivation of this crop in Brazil.
