Southern Florida fruit and vegetable prices have increased as a result of a Tropical Storm Eta hitting the region. The largest increase was seen in tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, and squash, which are all grown in the Homestead area. Bean prices doubled last week, squash prices were up 68%, plum tomato prices were up 59%, and cucumber prices rose 36% according to some estimates.
