Turkish wheat imports are coming mainly from Russia and Ukraine

Turkey has been a significant wheat importer in the global market with most of the wheat imports coming from Russia. Turkish importers used to purchase wheat with high protein content. However in the recent years, there has been a surge in demand for wheat with 10.5% protein content which caused an increase in wheat import from Ukraine.

Turkey is the world's biggest wheat flour exporter and second-biggest pasta supplier, which is why the wheat imports carry a vital importance for the production of these export products.
