Two GMO varieties Of rice and cowpea developed in Ghana

Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (STEPRI) of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has announced the development of two GMO Varieties Of Rice, Cowpea developed in Ghana.
This GMO varieties were important in the sustainable production of rice and cowpeas in the country.
The modified technologies has been identified as one of the safest methods for preventing insect and pest invasion in rice and cow peas that destroys most of current production in Ghana. It is expected to reduce post harvest losses and pest infestation.
