The uptrending prices for the main oilseeds and edible oils has been throwing bean acreage into a risk. Not only due to the Midwest and Prairies weather risk, but also due to the farming crop selection, of which it has been putting grains and pulses into a complicated spot. For one side weather is generating lower yielding, eventually leading to organically less product to trade and at a second level minor beans are purposely being produced in lesser amounts. Pinto beans increased $4/bag in a month, and cranberry beans are simply not being harvested out of Canada.
