The Argentine wheat campaign 2022/23 is headed to be the worst in seven years, with the total production estimates at 16.5 million tons, which means a drop of 5.5 M tons, taking into consideration last year's production of 22 M tons. Along with the severe drought that affected production, another climatic phenomenon that worsened the state of wheat was the late frosts that occurred in the center and south of the agricultural area in recent weeks. Despite this notorious drop in production, it is forecasted that the internal supply will be guaranteed (approx. 6 M tons), and there would still be an exportable balance, although much less than in the last seven years.
