Surge in South African Orange Prices as Season Nears End During W40

During W40, wholesale prices of South African oranges in Mercamadrid wholesale market in Spain, have surged at approximately USD 2.12 per kilogram (EUR 2/kg) for Category 1 oranges. This price spike is due to the diminishing volumes as the South African orange season nears its end, and the beginning of the Spanish orange season is yet to occur. The usual prices during the season range from USD 0.85 to 1.06/kg (EUR 0.8 to EUR 1/kg).
