The U.S. agency has banned products from Sime Darby Plantation (SDP) Berhad on 28 January. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued a notice of finding reasoning that some of the company's palm oil products were produced using forced labor. SDP is currently preparing a comprehensive and independent investigation report on the said allegations, which will be submitted to the US in due time.
