Japanese frozen mackerel exports gear to Asian market

Japan is the largest exporter of frozen mackerel in the world as a processor of fresh mackerals that are mostly caught anf imported from Norway. The country is the largest supplier to Taiwan as well. In 2020, Japan exported a total of 191M USD of the commodity globally and it exported a total of 2.57M USD worth of frozen mackerel to Taiwan. Its exports to Taiwan recovered by 611.36% after experiencing a huge dip in 2019 from 3.51M USD to 361.36K USD, when African countries had became more important export destinations of frozen mackerels.
