High Production of Australian Dried Chickpea Affects The Low Price in Australia and Bangladesh

The wholesale of dried chickpea in Australia dropped by -2% month-on-month to USD 3.91 per kg in W2 February 2022 from USD 3.98 per kg in W2 January 2022. Australian chickpea production is estimated to rise 15.1% in MY 2021/2022 because of increased acreage and favorable weather. Australia increased dried chickpea export volume to Bangladesh by +112% YoY in January - November 2021. This also affected the wholesale price of Bangladeshi dried chickpea fell by -12.02% YoY in W2 February 2022.
