High Production Cost in the US Soars Mexican Chili Price

The wholesale price of Mexican chili peppers increased by 40.68% YoY. Mexican chili pepper sold at the highest price at 5.69 USD per KG on 25 October 2021, +52.39% higher than a year earlier from 3.74 USD per KG. The US is the main importer of Mexican chili peppers also increased its volume by +11.49%. The US could not meet domestic demand and high production costs lead to import chili pepper and effect the high price of Mexican chili peppers.
