The wholesale price of frozen crab in China fell -38.55% YoY to 21.72 USD/KG in W2 October 2021, while the wholesale price of frozen crab in South Korea also fell -14.52%YoY to 7.64 USD/KG in the same period. The export value of frozen crab from China to South Korea decreased to 79.31M USD in 2020. The decline in the import value was also from other supplying countries so that its global import value fell to 96.48M USD. However this season, the abundance of domestic crab production in China and South Korea has affected the price decline. The price decline in the South Korean market is not the right time for China to export more frozen crabs because it will make the price even lower, also South Koreans will prefer the domestic price which is cheaper.
