Millet Prices in India Slightly Rise in December 2021

The wholesale price of millet in India rose +10.45% YoY to 0.38 USD/KG in the third week of December 2021. As the world's largest millet producer and exporter, the export value of Indian millet rose to 7.9M USD in 2020 driven by high consumption of millet at its importers. In order to increase the production and export of millet in India, the government asked not to plant rice in the rabi season and replace it with other alternative crops such as millet.
