High Demand for Sunflower Seed Meal in Spain Causes Prices to Escalate

Sunflower seed meal price in Spain rose +14.36% YoY in 2021. Although the price decreased in mid-August 2021 to 0.24 USD per KG, it bounced back slowly to 0.29 USD per KG on October 25, 2021. The demand for Sunflower healthy snacks has grown along with the tight supplies, forced Spain to import more sunflower seed meals. Ukraine as a major exporter of sunflower seeds meal to Spain prefers exporting the commodity to China first, causing the price of Spanish sunflower seed meals to soar in the market.
