Tomato Prices Soar in Global Markets

Tomato prices rose in export markets such as China ahead of September. The increase in the domestic market is likely to affect its value in the import market such as Russia which reached an increase of +69.74% YoY. Tomato prices experienced an increase of more than 45% WoW at the end of September 2021. Exports from China fell as high prices affected demand back in 2020. If prices do not return to normal in the near future, it is likely that the value of China's exports to Russia will continue to decline as they seek another alternative to meet supply shortages from China.
