This year, the market for M&A deals in the Russian agribusiness sector may become more active. The share of individual entrepreneurs and farmsteads in the total sown area in Russia is 32%, and together with small enterprises it reaches 61%. "We see that there is a constant, year-on-year, consolidation of the market. Today, large landowners hold approximately 19 million hectares. And by 2026, we have started preparing a rating and see that this group is increasing its land bank. And I think we can quite easily approach 19.5 million hectares," said the expert.
