The wholesale price of turmeric in the US has increased by +11.61% YoY. US turmeric sold at 13.78 USD/KG, compared to 12.35 USD/KG in 2020. Decreased production in India led to greater tumeric demands in the US in 2021. The US chose, instead, alternative markets, such as Fiji, for their tumeric supply. Despite finding a supplier, limited air freights led to high shipping costs from Fiji, being reflected in the US tumeric prices.
