Yam Price in Costa Rica Set a Record in W2 July 2022 Due to Production Costs

Costa Rican yam price increased dramatically by 93.46% YoY to USD 2.74/kg in W2 Jul-22 and set a record as the highest value in 2022. The high shipping costs drive the high price due to high fertilizer costs. It also affected US import value, and the wholesale price of imported yam in the US increased by 8.7% YoY to USD 4.59/kg in W2 Jul-22.
