Mexico Took Over Avocado Export to China in 2020

China's avocado imports via Hong Kong in 2013 versus 2020 showed not so different landscape. The US, Chile, and Mexico are still the countries that dominate the supply of Hong Kong. However, a shift in market share was seen when Mexico began to intensify its exports from the middle to the end of the year, to replace the lost supplies from the US and Chile. Mexico started to compete with the other two biggest exporters in exporting avocados to Hong Kong and outperform Chile taking around 30% of total trade value to Hong Kong.
