As of the end of January in the 2025-2026 production season, banana export volume was 157,200 tons, while the same period last year was 287,900 tons, a decrease of approximately 45.4% year-on-year. Currently, the export price of bananas is 2,520 Chinese Yuan per ton. The main routes for exporting bananas from Myanmar to China are the Waingmaw-Ganbeitie route and the Bhamo-Momo-Loijang route, with most exports currently passing through the Ganbeitie port. To export bananas to China, exporters must obtain certification from the General Administration of Customs of China. Although there are 46 certified banana production companies in Kachin State, only 15 are currently exporting. Due to the detection of pesticide residues in some plantations and products from some companies, according to the regulations of the General Administration of Customs, exports have been temporarily suspended, and only companies that meet the regulations can continue to export through designated channels.
