Wholesale prices for Pakistani basmati rice rose to USD0.84/mt at the end of W3 May 2022, up 14.82% compared to last year. Price growth is driven by firm export demand for Pakistani rice. Many imports are stocking up with the commodity to substitute disrupted wheat and corn supplies caused by the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
