Declining imported pear prices in the US market

The price of imported pears in the US market has rebounded since stepping on last August, the value gradually rising to the highest level last November at 1.09 USD per pound. However, this price fell again at the beginning of the year until last May and showed a lower level compared to other periods. The total volume of pear that could imported to the country was indeed higher in the first half of 2021. Although the value was considered small around January and February, the US began to increase supplies from major exporters in March to May. Massive supplies came from Argentina and Chile in 2020, while the US is reducing the supply of pears to its largest importer, Mexico.
