The price of garlic in China soared around June 2021 which made the value in 2021 much higher than the same period last year. The price difference intensified by around +61.98% YoY, making China now sell its garlic at 1.50 USD per KG in W4 July 2021. China exports the largest volume of fresh garlic to Indonesia and mostly targeting other Asian countries. The increase in production which still not significant enough to cover the overall demand, requires Indonesia to import garlic in bulk from the world's largest producer. Although the YoY price change is much wider in the Chinese market, garlic in Indonesia is still more expensive than the producer market. Its last price at the end of June was 1.66 USD per KG while China was selling at 1.55 USD per KG in the same period.
