Wholesale Chicken Egg Prices Drop to 18-Week Low, But Remain Considerably Higher Compared to 2021

Chicken egg prices in a wholesale market in Beijing, China, dropped 8% week-over-week and 11% month-over month to CNY 9.98/kg, their lowest levels since early August (18-week low). However, in annual terms, prices stood 12% higher, mainly as a result of coming from a higher base in previous months due to production declines driven by drought conditions.
