Poland is no. 1 among EU poultry meat producers, with total output for 2020 being approaching 3,1 million tonnes of poultry meat. Chicken meat in specific constitutes approx. 82% of the above. Poland is also the second-largest exporter of poultry meat in intra-EU trade with a 24.2% share, only slightly behind the Netherlands (24.9%). The total value of 2020 Polish poultry exports was 2,8 billion EUR.

Polish poultry meat processing plants are now considered among the most modern in the EU, and the competitiveness of the Polish poultry industry in relation to other EU countries is steadily increasing. Buyers also appreciate the lack of artificial preservatives, absence of growth hormones, unnecessary antibiotics, and artificial flavoring, along with the non-GMO status of Polish poultry and poultry-derived products.
