Production Facility and Quality

뉴질랜드 Frozen Mussels - 1-1.png
Tridge’s mussels are provided all year round, with peak seasons starting in September and extending into June of the following year. Our mussels take between 15 and 18 months to grow, and are harvested when the shell size reaches 90 to 100 mm. Our Greenshell variety is grown in four main areas in New Zealand: Marlborough, Golden Bay, Coromandel, and Stewart Island.

There is an emphasis on greenshell mussels being referenced as one of the most sustainable seafood options in the country. Every farm must operate in accordance with a resource consent that sets strict conditions enforced by the local council. Greenshell Mussels are governed by provisions within the Resource Management Act and the Aquaculture Act. Every harvest of New Zealand Greenshell Mussels must include a full declaration outlining the specific farm and approved water monitoring information. This ensures that the shellfish can be traced back to the time they were seeded out as juvenile mussels to identify faultiness, ultimately providing our buyers with only the best selection of mussels.
