In 1994, Angus Soft Fruits Ltd. was founded with the intention of selling fruit directly to retailers and continuously improving the product that consumers could choose from.

In the middle of the 1990s, Angus Soft Fruits Breeding Programme, an internal research, and development program, was established to provide a point of differentiation among the available products. This is how the first AVATM strawberry was created.

David Griffiths invented the Seaton System and established the first Angus Research and Development Innovation Site.AVA, the first premium berry grown in the UK, is introduced by Angus Soft Fruits. Angus Growers Ltd., a soft fruit producer organization, and Angus Soft Fruits enter into an agency agreement to supply fruit to major supermarkets.
