Dr. Péter Cserényi started learning the science of beekeeping by taking care of a few hives as a child in 1958. That was the beginning of his great love and care for bees. Today, our family farm in Lajosmizse has more than 500 hives.
He has developed into a nationally renowned specialist over time. He developed our beekeeping technology and taught countless beekeepers how to use it by combining his biology knowledge with his veterinarian experience. He served as the national beekeepers' association's deputy president for more than ten years.
Since 1998, I have been actively beekeeping myself and, with curiosity and humility, attempt to learn about these completely unrecognizable "bugs," which some beekeepers, ironically, call "smart animals." I grew up with a love for and expertise in bees and learned the basics when I was 12 to 13 years old.
Nowadays, the Cserényi apiary can produce 5-7 varieties of honey and other beekeeping products by migrating bees 1000-2000 kilometers across the nation annually.
