Bio Carpathia Cooperative is the answer of nearly 50 farmers to the modern consumer. These farmers remembered the benefits of associative production two years ago and now produce 3,600,000 liters of milk and 6,500 kilograms of beef annually, making them the largest organic milk and meat producer in Romania. Bio Carpathia products are guaranteed to be of high quality due to the fact that the farms are situated in areas that are known for producing high-quality grazing, and the animals are raised in an ecological system and fed hay, lucerne, ecological rape, and sunflower groats. They also produce sheep meat, further maximizing the cooperative's inherent advantages.
However, they have higher expectations, and as of 2018, they have entered supermarkets with their own brand of organic beef and dairy. On the Romanian and EU markets, they also sell traditional cheese and dairy products, meat and raw-dried products, and vegetables obtained through the use of traditional organic technologies. The cooperative facilitates a sustainable development by cultivating what the European Union calls "the short food supply chains." It has a significant economic, social, and cultural impact on rural societies. In addition, Bio Carpathia is contributing to the preservation of an entire ecosystem by revitalizing practices in animal husbandry and plant cultivation that have been passed down through generations for more than 700 years.
