Blue Ocean Mussels was established in 1987. specialized in the farming of mussels in South Africa. It is the preferred private label supplier of local frozen mussel products to South Africa’s largest food retailers and distributors. It has a farm in Saldanha Bay and a factory in Velddrif, marketing some of the best mussels in the world.

It distributes freshly harvested mussels by land and air to some of South Africa’s best food distributors, restaurants, and fish shops. It goes through weekly product and facility inspections by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) to ensure products are safe to consume. It is HACCP, Halaal, and ISO 9001 certified.
