Bosnaplad was established in 1948 as part of the country's plan for reconstruction.
Bosnaplod has been a source of agricultural production for decades in Brko and the towns nearby, and it continues to do so throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina today.
The company's current focus is on the production, acquisition, and processing of stone and berry fruits.
The region's primary source of income comes from this modest little fruit. From Brko, plums are exported for up to three million crowns in good years and approximately 500,000 crowns in lean years. Life moves quickly during the city's big plum market, which lasts for a week. Money pours in, musical chapels play in every cafe and restaurant, and the peasants hold large livestock and grain markets on the vast plain around Brko. This attracts foreign buyers from a variety of nations.
